Flowering Dogwood
The Flowering Dogwood is native to West Virginia. It can grow up to 12m tall(30ft tall). You would usually find it in moist woodlands. In the spring, small clusters of flowers are surrounded by large white bracts. In the fall, it bares bright red fruit that attract animals, mainly to birds. Although, the fruit is poisonous to human-beings. It blooms mid-spring and is short lived. The tree takes in carbon dioxide and breaths out oxygen. It also blooms flowers so it can give out beauty to the environment, and because of that, it's invaluable. Doesn't do anything really important to impact people. All it is is a beauty giver, oxygen supplying tree.
